When I last sat down with Nygma, I learned a lot about their start as a group. Brothers, Burnie and Colten, met Caleb at church and made a band. The group played a show at Killers Tacos and met Chris. All members coming from humble beginnings and banning together all for the pursuit of music. I feel like I just wrote a Netflix summary for a Slice of Life anime. No, Nygma is a stranger to the mere idea of “mundane”. Of course, like the rest of us, they’ve faced trials and disappointment, but they’ve done so with untiring persistence and cunning teeth.

These genre-bending rebels have been cutting their teeth in dive bars and DIY venues, leaving audiences in awe and gasping for more. Nygma's ascent to this prestigious lineup is nothing short of a triumph for these tireless rock musicians. “Yeah, we’re super stoked. Ready to showcase what we got. We’re playing the same day as Thursday which is like my favorite band.” Colten said this in our interview about playing SoWhat?! Music Fest (under the bleachers). “I mean, this is definitely the biggest event that Nygma has ever played attendance wise. We just want to give a huge thanks to Mike Ziemer, Orlando Mendoza, and the Third String Productions fam for helping us and giving us this opportunity. We also want to thank the fans that participated on that post. I truly believe that’s what put us over the edge for getting this opportunity, so thank you.” said Caleb when I asked how the opportunity came about (under the bleachers).
